About the Opportunity:
As a Pathologist Assistant, you provide essential support in the analysis and diagnosis of patient samples. Your role includes conducting gross examination and dissection of specimens, preparing tissues for histological processing, and collaborating with medical professionals. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $77.00 to $91.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct gross examination and dissection of large and complex specimens.
- Perform gross examination and dissection of small biopsies.
- Prepare tissues for histological processing.
- Assist and train Pathology Residents in gross room techniques.
- Obtain and review patient clinical information such as scans, X-rays, and lab results.
Job Requirements:
- NYS Licensure as a Pathologist Assistant with a bachelor's or higher degree from a recognized program.
- 0-3 years of related experience in Pathology.
- Fellow of the American Association of Pathologists Assistants preferred.
- ASCP certification preferred.
- Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.
