About the Opportunity
Our client is a nonprofit organization providing food, housing support, and essential social services to individuals and families across New York City. They are in search of an Associate Director of Senior Services to oversee the delivery of high-quality, dignified services that support the independence and well-being of older adults. Working closely with the Program Director, this role involves program oversight, supervision of service staff, direct client work, and the management of the organization’s social work training program. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating program activities, including a robust internship program for master’s-level social work students.
The annual base salary range is $70,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of programs tailored for older adults, focusing on areas such as crisis support, abuse prevention, and holistic social services
- Supervise and support frontline staff, cultivating a collaborative and supportive team environment aligned with organizational values
- Implement professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Analyze program data and performance metrics to track effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decisions
- Streamline internal processes for client service documentation and data collection
- Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and external providers to ensure seamless, integrated care for clients
- Conduct outreach efforts to raise awareness and engage community members
- Provide direct client services, including conducting assessments, intakes, and home visits to address client needs
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all client interactions and case notes in the agency’s database system
- Represent the organization in various meetings and inter-agency task forces
- Assist with grant-writing activities and prepare required reports for funding initiatives
- Administer the master’s-level social work internship program, including leading group supervision sessions and field instructor meetings
- Participate in the screening and selection process for new social work interns
- Serve as the primary liaison with educational institutions regarding internship placements and related matters.
- Exhibit cultural humility and respect when working with diverse populations, including immigrant and minority communities
- Undertake other duties as assigned by leadership
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field
- REQUIRED: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), with SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) certification
- Proven experience in program management or supervision within the human services sector
- Bilingual proficiency in Russian, Hebrew, or Spanish is highly preferred
- Familiarity with local cultural norms and community resources is a plus
- In-depth professional expertise in senior adult services
- Strong understanding of person-centered and trauma-informed care models
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both clients and staff
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with technology and database systems
