About the Opportunity
Our client, a venture capital firm investing in blockchain technology companies (not cryptocurrencies), is seeking a Fund Manager to join their growing team in New York City. Reporting to the CFO, this role involves overseeing the fund administrator, handling investor reporting, and managing LP communications. With over $1.5B in assets across six audited funds, the firm has seen strong performance in recent years. The position also includes collaborating with the COO on special projects, making it ideal for a team player eager to contribute to a dynamic environment.
The annual base salary range is $125,000 to $190,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CFO and Director of Finance on financial reporting
- Review quarterly and annual fund financial statements under US GAAP, including trial balances, investor allocations, and capital account statements
- Calculate fund and investment-level returns and prepare return and attribution analyses for investors
- Oversee fund administrator processes and review workpapers
- Coordinate with external tax firms to prepare K-1s
- Draft portfolio company valuation memos in compliance with ASC 820
- Prepare PCAPs for investors in collaboration with the fund administrator
- Support the COO with fund operations and respond to LP requests
- Coordinate investor capital calls, prepare notices, and monitor transactions
- Manage the investor portal and distribute K-1s and financial statements
- Report performance data to index and research firms
- Maintain the investor CRM system and handle government filings, including entity formation and legal documentation
- Implement new software and oversee custody of digital assets
Job Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in Private Equity or Venture Capital Fund Accounting, or strong Fund Admin experience at the management level
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
