About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established medical center in Bergen County, New Jersey, is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their diagnostic imaging team. This full-time role involves performing nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures with precision and care, contributing to both diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The base pay for this position is $35 to $55 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician instructions and safety protocols
- Operate PET/CT and gamma camera systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Ensure accurate patient identification and complete safety screening prior to imaging procedures
- Archive completed studies in PACS and verify proper documentation in RIS
- Assist patients with positioning and comfort during imaging exams
- Maintain imaging equipment and work areas in clean, functional condition
- Stay informed on advancements in nuclear medicine and PET/CT techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care and imaging accuracy
- Adapt to changing patient needs and workflow demands in a dynamic clinical environment
Job Requirements
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology through ARRT and/or NMTCB
- Valid state licensure (e.g., NJ DEP) and current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- At least one year of hands-on experience in nuclear medicine or PET/CT imaging preferred
- Strong grasp of human anatomy, physiology, and vascular systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Capable of critical thinking and problem-solving in clinical settings
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment and responding to emergencies effectively
