About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to lead the primary care services team within our client’s behavioral health hospital in Westchester County. This role is critical in bridging the gap between behavioral health and physical health by overseeing the delivery of primary care to patients with complex needs. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a commitment to integrated care, and a passion for serving diverse patient populations.
The annual base salary range is $102,000 to $112,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of the primary care department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with behavioral health needs
- Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, medical assistants, and primary care providers
- Collaborate with behavioral health teams to develop and implement integrated care plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs
- Monitor clinical workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, patient outcomes, and staff satisfaction
- Oversee staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-performing team
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including documentation, patient safety protocols, and infection control
- Act as a resource for clinical staff, providing guidance on complex cases and clinical best practices
- Manage the department’s budget, resources, and supplies to ensure smooth operations
- Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning within the primary care department
- Provide direct patient care as needed, including assessment, triage, and chronic disease management
- Educate patients and families on preventive health practices, chronic condition management, and medication adherence
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted RN license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in primary care, outpatient, or integrated care settings
- At least 2 years of leadership or management experience in a clinical environment
- Strong understanding of primary care and behavioral health integration
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to foster collaboration across disciplines and navigate complex patient care needs
- Experience working with patients who have co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions
- Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Primary Care, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and integrated health models
