About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team in a specialized role focused on Substance Abuse and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction medicine, a deep understanding of MAT protocols, and a commitment to providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance abuse.
The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical assessments to evaluate patients with substance abuse disorders
- Collaborate with the medical team to diagnose and develop personalized treatment plans
- Administer and monitor MAT interventions, including prescription and management of medications such as buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone
- Educate patients on the benefits and risks of MAT, ensuring informed consent and compliance
- Provide ongoing medical care and support to individuals undergoing substance abuse treatment
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and address any emerging issues promptly
- Work closely with physicians, counselors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create a holistic approach to patient care
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and refine treatment strategies
- Offer education on addiction, recovery, and harm reduction strategies
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families to promote overall well-being
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with administrative staff to facilitate insurance billing and reimbursement processes
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current and valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Board certification in addiction medicine or a related field is preferred
- Experience in substance abuse treatment, with a focus on MAT
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
