About the Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly expanding restaurant and franchise operator, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Denver, Colorado. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership on both corporate and franchised units while helping to build scalable accounting processes that support ongoing growth The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and partner with the VP of Finance, taking ownership of core accounting functions, financial reporting, and process improvements across the organization. This is a high-impact position suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong technical expertise, and has the confidence to drive efficiency and accuracy in a multi-entity setting.
The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll entries, and fixed assets
- Manage month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger integrity across multiple locations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies while maintaining a strong control environment
- Support franchise revenue recognition processes, including royalty payments and fee tracking
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in partnership with leadership
- Deliver account analysis, variance reporting, and insights to inform decision-making
- Assist with audit and tax requirements by preparing supporting schedules and documentation
- Contribute to the accuracy of franchise billing, reconciliations, and cross-functional reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability of accounting operations
- Support ERP and POS system optimization, integrations, and other technology-driven initiatives
- Maintain organized documentation and work papers for all accounting activities
- Collaborate on special projects and ad-hoc analysis as the company grows
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within multi-location operations
- Strong understanding of GAAP and preparation of financial statements
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite a plus)
- Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability
Preferred Skills
- CPA license or progress toward certification
- Background in restaurant, retail, or franchise operations
- Public accounting experience
- Knowledge of ERP systems, POS integrations, and franchise revenue recognition
