About the Opportunity
Our client, an industry-leading private equity, venture capital, and real estate lending firm in NYC, is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant / Manager for a newly created finance role driven by global growth. This high-impact, high-visibility position offers significant career development and strategic exposure, reporting directly to the C-suite. The role will lead core accounting and financial operations across the firm’s real estate lending and investment funds, with responsibilities including performance reporting, data analysis, investor communications, compliance, and fund financial management. Ideal candidates are proactive, analytical, and eager to contribute to the growth and efficiency of a dynamic, expanding investment platform.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financials for real estate investment funds, including NAV and performance reporting
- Manage transactions for construction and bridge loans, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and valuation
- Create investor reports and distribution schedules; respond to investor inquiries with clear financial insights
- Ensure GAAP compliance and support tax filings across local, state, and federal levels
- Lead audit preparation and provide financial analysis to support senior leadership and strategic decisions
- Monitor debt facilities, loan covenants, and support capital raising and financing strategies
- Maintain strong internal controls and perform reviews to mitigate financial risk
- Assist with financial modeling, fund forecasting, and investment projections
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff on technical and reporting processes
- Work cross-functionally with teams like origination, underwriting, asset management, and legal to align financial reporting and compliance
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CFA strongly preferred
- 3-6 years of experience in fund accounting or public audit, ideally within real estate lending, private equity, or structured finance
- Strong knowledge of real estate finance, including construction and bridge loan structures
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP and tax regulations related to real estate investments
- Proficiency in fund accounting and financial systems such as Investran, Yardi, or similar platforms
