About the Opportunity
An established hospital and nursing facility network based in New York is currently seeking Surgical Scrubs/Sterile Processing Techs for their Genesee County, NY locations. You would be tasked with preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and making sure supplies are kept in stock. The base pay range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. Job Responsibilities
Surgical/Scrub Tech
- Prepare the operating room for upcoming surgeries.
- Sterilize equipment and stock up any necessary supplies.
- Prepare patients for their procedures.
- Sterilize equipment and hand surgeons’ instruments upon request
- Order and take inventory of supplies and maintain files and records of procedure.
Sterile Processing Tech
- Perform all phases of decontamination: instruments, carts, and equipment
- Operate the washer-decontaminator, cart wash, and the steam gun
- Perform all phases of inspecting and assembling instruments for the OR
- Operate the sterilizers in the department (STEAM and STERRAD)
- Adhere to the proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on the appropriate log sheets
- Maintain accurate logs on all sterilizers.
- Operate heat sealer, labeling gun, and drying cabinet
Job Requirements
- Surgical Scrub/Sterile Processing Tech certification (CRCST/CSPDT/CST)
- BLS Certified
- Experience using EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
