About the Opportunity
This full-time contract position involves the role of a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a laboratory setting, focusing solely on respiratory therapy techniques and modalities. The role does not involve direct patient care. Responsibilities include administering and assessing respiratory therapy techniques, interpreting data from complex techniques, and ensuring therapy effectiveness. An emphasis is placed on resolving patient care issues independently of supervision and documenting patient care accurately.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $55.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducting routine and advanced respiratory therapy modalities and techniques.
- Assessing the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy administered.
- Collaborating with medical personnel to resolve patient care issues.
- Demonstrating respiratory therapy equipment and its applications.
- Participating in department safety and in-service education programs.
- Gathering complex hemodynamic data and interpreting results.
- Documenting patient care accurately.
Job Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by N.B.R.C. required.
- NYS Respiratory Therapist license and BLS certification required.
- Six months of prior hospital-based experience required.
- Superior knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and clinical applications required.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with all medical personnel required.
