About the Opportunity:
The Sterile Processing Tech role involves assisting in the decontamination, High Level Disinfection, assembling, sterilization, and distribution of clean and sterile surgical instruments, trays, and pans. This position operates in a state-of-the-art instrument processing and sterilizing environment. Responsibilities include operating sterilizers, inspecting and packaging surgical items, and maintaining inventory. This is a full-time contract position on evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed, totaling 40 hours per week.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $28.05 to $33.15 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans and trays using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Operate steam sterilizers and perform maintenance tasks to ensure sterility.
- Check and adjust medical equipment, ensuring proper operation before issuance.
- Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, preventing cross-contamination.
- Receive and store supplies, maintaining inventory and assisting in order documentation.
- Conduct quality assurance on all sterile supplies and instruments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Job Requirements:
- Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD).
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech.
- Experience in a large hospital environment (500 beds plus).
- Travel experience as a Sterile Processing Tech (6 months).
- Two professional references from the last two assignments.
