About the Opportunity:
The Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This part-time contract position involves handling various clinical duties that contribute to efficient dental office operations. The role requires exceptional customer service and communication skills, with room for learning and growth.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming treatment room by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patients.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments for dentist's access.
- Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Expose and develop radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients with oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Adhere to infection-control policies to protect patients and employees.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or one year of hands-on experience.
- CPR card.
- X-ray certification.
