About the Opportunity:
The Dental Assistant role involves providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This part-time contract position focuses on handling a variety of clinical duties that support dental office operations, requiring exceptional customer service and communication skills.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area and passing instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies.
- Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect patient and employee safety by adhering to infection-control policies.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies appropriately.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification and a CPR card.
- Preferred certifications include nitrous oxide certification and coronal polishing certification.
