About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our clinical team in providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This individual handles various clinical duties in dental office operations, ranging in complexity and skill. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping the patient.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
- Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and phone directory.
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect patient and employee safety by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification and CPR card.
- Nitrous oxide certification and Coronal polishing certification preferred.
