About the Opportunity:
Join our clinical team as a Dental Assistant in Virginia Beach, VA, providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction. This full-time contract position entails handling a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations, promoting excellent customer service and communication. The estimated base pay for these positions is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency drug and oxygen supply.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program, or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- X-Ray Certification with six months of experience.
