About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position involves providing exceptional care and support as a Dental Assistant within a dental practice setting. The role includes assisting the clinical team with various duties, ensuring a high level of patient care and satisfaction. Responsibilities include preparing treatment areas, assisting in dental procedures, maintaining hygiene standards, and educating patients on oral care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $19.25 to $22.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, and assisting the dentist.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in patients' mouths.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, and handling study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and functionality by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients with oral hygiene and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect operations by keeping patient information confidential and adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
- CPR card.
- Nitrous oxide certification and coronal polishing certification preferred.
