About the Opportunity:

A Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction within a team-based environment. This part-time contract position involves handling a variety of clinical duties ranging in complexity. All tasks require exceptional customer service and communication skills.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $19.25 to $22.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
  • Serve as a key communicator, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues through responsive interactions.
  • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
  • Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
  • Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug, and oxygen supply.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Six months of experience.
  • CVCT Training and RDA preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
