About the Opportunity:

A Dental Assistant serves as an integral member of the dental team, providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction within a collaborative practice environment. This part-time contract position involves handling an array of clinical tasks for dental office operations, capable of varying complexity, with opportunities for skill acquisition and professional growth. The role demands exceptional customer service and communication skills.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $24.75 to $29.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
  • Act as a key communicator in the practice, providing valuable information and support through responsive interactions.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments, position instruments for dentist's access, suction, and pass instruments during procedures.
  • Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Expose and develop radiographic studies, pour, trim, and polish study casts.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations, and clean and polish removable appliances to maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate.
  • Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services in patient records to maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
  • Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Attend educational workshops and review professional publications to maintain professional and technical knowledge.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Minimum six months of experience in a dental setting.
  • Preferred certifications: CVCT Training or RDA.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
