About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leading academic medical center in New York City, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant with inpatient transplant experience to support its Liver Transplant / HPB service on the night shift.
This role focuses on managing post-operative liver transplant patients and individuals admitted with transplant-related complications such as infection, rejection, or cholangitis. The PA will work within a structured escalation pathway that includes surgical fellows, transplant surgeons, and hepatologists on call.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $52.25 to $61.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Round on liver transplant patients and perform clinical examinations
- Manage overnight care for post-operative transplant patients
- Admit patients and complete pre-operative transplant workups as needed
- Document H&P, event notes, and clinical updates in Epic
- Update patient handoffs and provide verbal handoff to the day PA team
- Monitor patients for transplant-related complications
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, and the multidisciplinary care team
Job Requirements:
- Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
- Active New York State PA License
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient transplant experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- COVID and Flu vaccination required

- Location: New York, NY
- Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (Starting 06/01/2026) | Potential for Extension
- Schedule: Nights | 3 Shifts Weekly | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
- Pay Rate: $120–$140/hour (flexible and negotiable based on experience)
