About the Opportunity:
This nurse practitioner position involves providing care to critically ill pediatric congenital cardiac patients at a 16-bed acuity-adaptable Pediatric Cardiac Care Center. It is a full-time contract position requiring both 13-hour day and night rotating shift schedules, with on-call responsibilities, including holidays and weekends as per unit needs. The role focuses on managing patients with congenital heart disease, including pre- and post-operative care, single ventricle physiology, arrhythmia, vasopressor support, and guidelines related to ECMO and CRRT, among others. Advanced Practice Providers serve as primary covering providers in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $110.00 to $130.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and managing care plans for pediatric cardiac patients.
- Providing care for high-acuity pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical patients.
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress, including managing complex cardiac needs.
- Staying informed on cardiac care research and procedural guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses in good standing.
- Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- BLS from AHA and PALS from ABA certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU as an APP.
- Knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
