About the Opportunity:
This RN, Psych position entails the delivery of quality patient care in an acute psychiatric setting. The nurse manages clinical supervision and daily operations within the department, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory codes. Responsibilities include collaboration with the Director to coordinate performance improvement initiatives and compliance with healthcare standards. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $66.00 to $78.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for psychiatric patients.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and education to patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Monitor and document patient progress.
- Stay informed on psychiatric research and evidence-based practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Gather performance improvement data and oversee quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide 24-hour operational leadership and administrative coverage as necessary.
- Participate in continuous education to enhance administrative and clinical skills.
Job Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum five years as a Registered Nurse required.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience in psychiatry required.
- Minimum two years in a leadership role required.
- Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State required.
- Basic Life Support, ACLS, and Crisis Management certifications required.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, math, and computer skills.
- Experience with quality improvement models and root cause analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
