About the Opportunity:
The OR RN provides specialized care for a wide variety of patients in the operating room at a level 1 trauma center. Specialties include orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma. The program incorporates the use of 2 Davinci robots and manages transplant procedures including livers, kidneys, and hearts. This is a full-time contract position with a rotating shift schedule that includes on-call, callback, floating, holidays, and weekends per unit needs.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $50.05 to $59.15 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and create individualized care plans.
- Provide specialized perioperative nursing care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress and changes in condition.
- Stay informed on current surgical care practices and emerging technologies.
Job Requirements:
- RN License (NY state license ONLY).
- Two years of operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center preferred.
- Able to scrub and circulate in the OR.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Experience in specialty cases such as transplants, plastics, and reconstructive surgeries preferred.
- Strong background in orthopedics preferred.
