About the Opportunity:
Nurse Manager Emergency Department assumes responsibility 24 hours a day for overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. This role includes oversight and direction for the emergency department, accountability for planning, directing, leading, and evaluating nursing care within the department, fostering an environment of collaboration and respect with all other healthcare team members. Weekend and holiday coverage as needed is part of the role. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $66.00 to $78.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) finalize at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop long-term unit staffing schedules and ensure adequate daily coverage in accordance with established staffing needs.
- Monitor unit operational performance metrics, including agency and overtime costs, vacancy, and turnover rates.
- Oversee daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training, and development of employees within the department.
- Support and interpret the policies, procedures, and objectives of the hospital.
- Monitor customer satisfaction scores and implement plans to improve scores.
- Collaborate with the CNO/SVP of nursing to establish nursing care standards and evaluate staff compliance.
- Conduct monthly meetings with the staff to address various operational concerns.
Job Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- BLS, ACLS, & PALS certifications.
- Minimum of five years of management and/or supervisory experience in the Emergency Department.
- Demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication in English both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with EPIC systems for at least one year.
