About the Opportunity:
The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) provides advanced cardiac care to pediatric patients, including heart failure and transplantation. As a Physician Assistant in this full-time contract position, you perform clinical care in a high-acuity setting, comprising a 20-bed main CICU and a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU). You engage in pre- and post-operative surgical care, pediatric heart failure and transplant management, and advanced mechanical circulatory support. The CICU serves as a key center for procedures like ECMO, CRRT, and electrophysiology interventions.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $120.18 to $142.03 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create specialized cardiac care plans.
- Provide therapeutic and educational support to patients and families.
- Collaborate with critical care and cardiology fellows to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document progress of patients, ensuring adherence to care standards.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in cardiac intensive care and transplantation procedures.
- Perform essential bedside procedures, including removal of chest tubes and cardiac lines.
- Possess additional procedural capabilities, like insertion of chest tubes and endotracheal intubation.
Job Requirements:
- Critical Care Certification.
- Prior experience in high-acuity cardiac settings preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in advanced bedside procedures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
