About the Opportunity:
As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you play an integral role in the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. This part-time contract position involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting during patient treatments, and coordinating patient care. We emphasize preventive oral health care and value our hygiene team. The estimated base pay for these positions is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) finalize at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
- Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress.
- Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
- Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
- Support the hygienist with patient scheduling, treatment recommendations, and office recall systems.
- Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA & OSHA.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- X-ray training or certification.
- BLS certification.
- Prior dental assisting experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort.
