About the Opportunity:
The Radiologic Technologist position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional imaging services to patients requiring diagnostic evaluations. This full-time contract role involves performing x-ray procedures to support physicians' evaluations by using specialized radiologic equipment. The Radiologic Technologist interacts with patients by verifying identities, explaining procedures, and ensuring safe positioning. The role requires availability for on-call shifts, holidays, and the ability to report within 30 minutes when on-call. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, including occasional on-call shifts.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $57.75 to $68.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
- Use x-ray equipment to capture images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
- Position patients appropriately, including assisting those with limited mobility.
- Safely handle radiologic equipment to maintain low radiation doses to patients.
- Monitor patients' conditions and assess age-specific needs.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation.
- Notify management promptly of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems to ensure accuracy in patient details and imaging records.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT Certification.
- NYS license or eligibility to obtain it before starting.
- Minimum of 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience using c-arm/o-arm technology in the past 8 months.
- Recent Operating Room experience in a trauma center.
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for prolonged periods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Patient-focused and compassionate disposition, effectively working within a team environment.
