About the Opportunity:
An X-Ray Technologist provides radiographic imaging services to patients, ensuring accurate and high-quality diagnostic images. This is a full-time contract position that involves conducting x-ray procedures as per physicians' orders, handling all radiologic equipment safely, and maintaining accurate patient record keeping. The technologist explains x-ray procedures to patients, positions them accordingly, and monitors their status to meet age-specific needs.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $57.75 to $68.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting x-ray procedures as per physicians' written orders.
- Providing explanations of procedures to patients and answering their questions.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to position patients, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress, including accurate identification and recording of images.
- Staying informed on radiologic technology and patient safety procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS license (or ability to obtain license prior to starting).
- Minimum of 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience using c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months.
- Recent OR experience is required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
