About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading privately held distribution company, is seeking a VP of Finance/CFO to lead their finance function from Houston, TX. This is a high-impact executive role that will oversee financial reporting, cost and inventory accounting, ERP optimization, and process improvement as the company transitions finance operations in-house.
The annual base salary range is $200,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes, financial reporting, compliance, and management of external relationships
- Manage cost and inventory accounting, margin analysis, and working capital optimization
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and the development of scalable financial planning models
- Optimize ERP systems, management reporting, and data integrity
- Drive process improvements, internal controls, and cross-functional efficiency throughout the business
Job Requirements
- 15–25 years of progressive finance experience, with current or recent leadership as VP of Finance or CFO in a distribution environment
- Expertise in cost accounting, inventory control, and product-based businesses (manufacturing or distribution preferred)
- Experience building and enhancing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Demonstrated success implementing or optimizing ERP systems
- Prior experience as Controller, Director of Finance, or similar hands-on finance leadership role
- Proven ability to lead, improve processes, and drive operational excellence in a growing mid-sized organization
