About the Opportunity:
This Lab Specialist, Med Tech position involves handling, labeling, and processing specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols. Utilizing both manual and computerized systems, the Lab Specialist supports laboratory operations, ensuring accurate documentation, completeness, and compliance with identification and safety standards. The role requires a commitment to communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients, maintain organized records, and support general clerical tasks to ensure smooth laboratory workflow in this full-time contract position with shifts from 7A-3P.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $18.76 to $22.17 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen handling, labeling, and processing activities according to laboratory protocols.
- Utilize manual and computerized systems for laboratory operations and documentation.
- Review incoming materials and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare, organize, and distribute samples and materials to designated areas.
- Communicate with healthcare staff and patients regarding test results and laboratory services.
- Maintain organized records and support data entry functions.
- Operate computer systems for data access, input, and reporting.
- Assist in transporting materials and supplies within or between facilities.
- Follow institutional policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with workspace upkeep, inventory management, and cleanliness.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with manual and computerized laboratory systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
