About the Opportunity:
This RN, Endoscopy GI position requires providing specialized care to patients undergoing endoscopic and gastrointestinal procedures. This is a full-time contract position that involves answering patient questions, observing vital signs, sedating and recovering patients, and administering necessary medications. RNs prepare instruments and supplies, clean and sterilize equipment, and assist doctors during procedures. On-call duties are required for overnight and weekend coverage. The estimated base pay for these positions is $57.75 to $68.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.
- Observing patient vital signs.
- Sedating patients before procedures.
- Recovering patients after procedures.
- Administering the necessary medication to patients.
- Completing all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.
- Preparing the instruments, equipment, and supplies for the procedure.
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment before use.
- Providing assistance to doctors throughout the procedure.
- Administering IV drips.
Job Requirements:
- NY license ONLY.
- BLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
- ACLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
- 2 years previous endoscopy procedure experience.
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification required.
- Conscious sedation experience.
- Expert IV insertion.
- Experience recovering patients from general anesthesia required.
- Experience performing intake for GI procedures.
