About the Opportunity
Our client is a global asset manager based in Miami, Florida that is in search of a Systems Engineer to join their team! The individual will focus on resolving infrastructure issues and addressing service requests across various platforms, encompassing Compute (Unix and Windows), Database, Storage, and Networking. The team’s objective is to respond promptly to optimize system uptime and minimize trading disruptions. Additionally, they will oversee infrastructure and trading outages that could potentially affect business operations.
The annual base salary range is $125,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor the Firm’s technological infrastructure to proactively anticipate or detect potential issues
- Resolve and troubleshoot problems within the Firm’s IT framework
- Address both spontaneous and scheduled operational requests promptly
- Engage in collaboration with local and global teams to exchange insights on the operational status of the production environment
- Create and update comprehensive runbooks outlining protocols for escalating alerts and other procedures
- Directly support teams to promptly resolve incidents
- Coordinate responses to system outages, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and manage incident bridges/calls
- Ensure accurate documentation of all incidents using the Firm’s IT Service Management (ITSM) tools
- Explore avenues for enhancing current processes and improving service quality
- Regularly assess and optimize workflows to streamline operations and boost efficiency
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of Infrastructure/Systems Engineer experience (coming from a Networking and Systems background)
- CCNA Cert is highly preferred
- Excellent communication/soft skills are required for this role.
- Ability to work public holiday rotation and weekend coverage every so often
