About the Opportunity:
This contract position as a Registered Dietitian involves providing patient care through monitoring dietary needs, offering education on food/drug interactions, and consulting with physicians for diet modifications. Duties include recording food and drug interactions and dietary instructions in patient records.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Screen and assess patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care to determine nutritional needs and provide follow-up care.
- Interview patients and/or their families to obtain a history of food habits and preferences.
- Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical, and social data from medical records concerning nutrition care.
- Provide nutrition education and document the patient's diet, instructions, and understanding in the education section.
- Modify patient menus as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition.
- New York State Certification, issued by NYSED, or registration by the Commissions on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian required for specific locations.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience or a Master's degree.
- Preferred: AHA BLS certification.
