About the Opportunity:
This position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides critical care to patients in a high-pressure setting. As a full-time contract position, responsibilities include assessing patient needs, intervening in life-threatening situations, and delivering quality patient care. The RN also engages in clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual assessments to ensure comprehensive patient support.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $52.17 to $61.66 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of patient needs and create comprehensive care plans.
- Provide immediate intervention during life-threatening situations.
- Collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress according to established guidelines.
- Stay informed on advancements in emergency medicine practices.
Job Requirements:
- Current NYS RN license required.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
- Minimum travel experience across healthcare settings.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Critical care and charge experience preferred.
- Experience with MEDITECH documentation systems required.
- Possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Certification in lethal dysrhythmia and defibrillation within six months.
- IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation.
