About the Opportunity:
The role of an Accounts Representative involves managing patient financial services, including tasks such as insurance verification, billing, collections, and claims follow-up. This is a full-time contract position conducted in a hybrid format with work from New York, NY. Required tasks comprise interviewing patients, verifying coverage, and coordinating with various departments to handle billing and insurance matters. Stakeholders include self-pay patients and insurance companies to secure promises of payment for non-covered services.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting insurance verification and billing for inpatient and outpatient services.
- Providing assistance to self-pay patients regarding coverage options.
- Collaborating with medical areas and insurance companies to ensure timely submission of clinical information and bills.
- Monitoring and processing third-party bills, remittances, and reconciliations.
- Staying informed on electronic claim submission processes and compliance policies.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- One to four years of related experience.
- Claims/appeal follow-up and billing experience.
- Effective communication and PC/data entry skills.
- Solid knowledge of third-party insurance payors.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
