About the Opportunity:
The patient registrar role involves managing and coordinating the registration and scheduling of patients within a healthcare setting. This part-time contract position focuses on ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate insurance verification, and collection of financial obligations to facilitate patient access to care. The role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure optimal patient flow.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $19.28 to $22.79 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients, obtaining demographic and insurance information accurately.
- Conduct insurance verification checks and pre-register patients in the medical group system.
- Schedule appointments and maintain daily appointment schedules effectively.
- Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is included and reviewed.
- Collaborate with referring offices and departments to schedule and confirm patient exams.
- Process billing codes and ensure timely submission of third-party bills.
- Notify patients of financial obligations and establish payment arrangements.
- Counsel patients on payment options and Medicaid eligibility.
- Collect co-payments and fees, issuing receipts accordingly.
- Assist in compiling data for routine statistical reports.
Job Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED.
- 1+ year of clerical experience.
- Experience with Epic systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits and coding (ICD 9, CPT-4).
- Proficient data entry skills.
