About the Opportunity:
The Patient Registrar role involves registering patients, obtaining insurance information, and ensuring all documentation is updated in the system. Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with other departments. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $20.08 to $23.73 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients tactfully and courteously.
- Pre-register patients and check insurance verifications.
- Maintain daily appointment schedules and prepare clinic setups.
- Request, review, and manage patient charts and test results.
- Interface with referring offices and schedule medical procedures.
- Prepare necessary paperwork and verify patient financial obligations.
- Collect co-payments and maintain financial transaction records.
- Counsel patients regarding Medicaid eligibility and payment options.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of clerical experience required.
- Telephone and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits and coding ICD 9 CPT-4.
- Proficient computer and keyboard skills.
- Customer service and data entry skills at 4500 keystrokes.
