About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a Patient Registrar, providing essential support in Health and Information Management. This role involves registering, scheduling, and obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients to ensure payment from third-party payers. The Patient Registrar greets and registers patients, obtains all relevant demographic and insurance information, and manages patient information systems. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $23.10 to $27.30 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Register patients in a tactful and courteous manner, obtaining patient demographic and insurance information.
- Pre-register patients and verify insurance using the Medical Group billing system.
- Schedule and maintain daily appointment schedules to ensure efficient resource management.
- Request and review necessary medical records and test results prior to appointments.
- Interface with referring offices and internal departments to schedule exams.
- Process all necessary authorizations, requisitions, and third-party billing information.
- Notify patients of financial obligations and establish payment arrangements as per financial policies.
- Assist with data compilation for statistical reports and maintain financial transaction records.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of clerical experience.
- Experience in customer service.
- Data entry skills of 4500 keystrokes.
- Effective communication and telephone skills.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits and requirements is preferred.
