About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position involves the role of Health Information Management Technician, where the main responsibilities include entering medical record information into the clinical database, producing reports for various departments, and managing the completion and documentation of medical record documents. The position also involves verifying the accuracy of patient information and producing statistical reports on patient data. The estimated base pay for these positions are $26.40 to $31.20 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Enter medical record information into the clinical database and verify data for accuracy.
- Produce reports via the Stargen system for accessing medical information.
- Track the completion of various medical record documents using a computer log system.
- Receive computer-generated letters and verify the status of documentation before forwarding.
- Produce weekly statistical reports on admissions, discharges, length of stay, and diagnoses.
- Register and index all patients, assigning medical record numbers and maintaining logs.
- Report any errors in the database to the Assistant Director of Health Information Management.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical record operating procedures and systems or related patient case management experience.
- Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and documentation requirements.
- Experience with EPIC account and payor web portals required.
- Ability to manage details accurately with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must work effectively with a variety of professional staff.
