About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading financial technology firm, is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to support its HR and employee benefits operations team in New York City. This contract opportunity is ideal for an early-career HR professional looking to build experience in benefits administration, leave management, and employee support within a fast-paced corporate environment.
The estimated base pay is $25 to $30 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and leave programs
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to benefits eligibility, enrollment, and general plan information
- Assist with leave of absence administration and documentation in coordination with HR and third-party vendors
- Process benefit enrollments, life event changes, new hires, and terminations within HRIS and vendor systems
- Support benefits deductions, billing, and reconciliation activities
- Assist with employee communications, educational materials, and benefits-related resources
- Support onboarding and new hire benefits orientation activities
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal HR stakeholders to support day-to-day benefits administration
Job Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or a related HR support role
- Basic understanding of employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave programs
- Excellent communication and employee support skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with HRIS or benefits platforms is a plus
- Experience supporting open enrollment or employee benefits communications is a plus
