About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Counselor in New York City with a commitment to providing high-quality mental health services. The ideal candidate will hold an active license (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) and have at least three years of experience in the mental health field. This role involves working directly with clients to provide counseling, assess their mental health needs, and develop individualized treatment plans. The Clinical Counselor will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic client care and contribute to a positive, supportive environment for clients and colleagues.
The annual base salary range is $70,000 to $78,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for clients to determine their needs, strengths, and areas for intervention
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to clients with a focus on achieving positive mental health outcomes
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of client sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with other professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Engage in crisis intervention as needed and provide clients with tools to manage crisis situations effectively
- Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to stay current on best practices in mental health care
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all client interactions
Job Requirements
- Active licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mental health field, with a demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and work effectively with diverse populations
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and mental health assessment tools
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy, active listening, and cultural competence
- Proficient in documentation practices and familiar with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented setting and maintain professionalism under pressure
