About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position in the Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Unit involves utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care. Nurses prescribe, delegate, and coordinate care for assigned patients based on departmental standards and practices. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating health problems through case finding, health teaching, and counseling, as well as supervising care by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine immediate and ongoing patient care needs.
- Develop comprehensive care plans incorporating physical, educational, and psychosocial needs.
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimen.
- Supervise care provided by other nursing personnel within the scope of practice.
- Document and communicate patient responses to illnesses and treatment to the team.
- Coordinate the overall care plan and prioritize care with the multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in quality improvement activities and develop nursing/hospital standards.
- Serve as a clinical resource and participate in the orientation of new nursing staff.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in relevant meetings, committees, and educational programs.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development through continuing education.
Job Requirements:
- BSN required with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years in Med-Surg and chemotherapy experience.
- Competency in blood and chemotherapy transfusions for adults and pediatrics.
- Preferred: Board Certification (ONC).
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to use electronic record systems.
