About the Opportunity:
A Certified Surgical Technician provides expertise in operating room technology, assisting in routine and delegated functions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Responsibilities include performing scrub assignments, applying aseptic principles, setting up sterile instruments, and assisting in surgical procedures and patient transfers. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $55.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct surgical scrubs and assist with gowning and gloving procedures.
- Set up sterile instruments and prepare supplies according to the type of operation.
- Assist in draping the patient and operative area as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon for instruments, sutures, and sponges.
- Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
- Assist in care, handling, and disposition of specimens.
- Assist in preparing and transferring patients to recovery.
- Prepare medications or solutions under supervision.
- Maintain and clean operating room and equipment.
Job Requirements:
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician required.
- High School diploma required.
- L&D OR experience is required.
- CST certification is required.
- Ability to work night shifts, 11PM-7:15AM, 5 days a week.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for surgical tasks.
