About the Opportunity:
A Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. The role includes handling various clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $24.75 to $29.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, positioning them for dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
- Expose and develop radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations, cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records and maintaining confidentiality.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
Job Requirements:
- Training from an accredited Dental Assistant program.
- One year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Possession of a valid X-ray license is required.
- BLS certification.
- Coronal Polishing certification and Nitrous Oxide certification preferred.
