About the Opportunity:
The Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This full-time contract position handles a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations, requiring exceptional customer service and communication skills.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering tools to the treatment area.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in patients' mouths.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations.
- Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous education and networking.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- X-Ray Certification with at least six months of experience.
