About the Opportunity:
This RN position in the Med Surg department involves providing care to patients in the Stroke Stepdown unit. Responsibilities include addressing a variety of common diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general med surg, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. The position is a full-time contract role with shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Floating between units may be required, and block scheduling is not guaranteed.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $48.34 to $57.13 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough nursing assessments and creating individualized care plans for patients.
- Providing education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborating with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and modifying care plans as necessary.
- Staying informed on current practices and advancements in stroke and med surg care.
Job Requirements:
- Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in med surg with stroke stepdown experience is essential.
- Travel nursing experience required.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as EPIC.
- Active NY RN License and verification of all active RN licenses through NURSYS.
- Ability to float to different units as needed.
