About the Opportunity:
As a Physician Assistant in the Surgery Department, you provide specialized care in a hospital inpatient setting. You conduct assessments, diagnose patient conditions, and assist in surgical procedures, offering therapeutic and diagnostic services including suturing and placement of lumbar drains. You collaborate with a team that includes 6 MDs, 1 RN, and 4 MAs to deliver comprehensive neurosurgical care. This is a full-time contract position, offering both 10-hour and 12-hour shifts with responsibilities extending into occasional call shifts.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $117.70 to $139.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans.
- Providing surgical assistance and postoperative care.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate inpatient and outpatient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress using the EPIC system.
- Staying informed on latest developments in neurosurgical practices.
Job Requirements:
- Board Certified in Neurosurgery.
- Active South Carolina state license.
- Certifications in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar setting.
- Experience with EPIC charting system.
