About the Opportunity:
Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in a full-time contract position. Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to assigned patients. Deliver care based on the established standards of the Department of Nursing and other policies. Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems through services such as case finding, health teaching, and health counseling. Supervise patient care provided by licensed practical nurses, registered nurses on permit, and supplemental staff.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $56.10 to $66.30 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of immediate and continuing care needs of patients/significant others.
- Develop comprehensive care plans, including physical needs, patient teaching, and discharge planning.
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimen.
- Supervise care provided by other nursing personnel as defined in the scope of practice.
- Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and therapeutic modalities.
- Coordinate overall plan of care to ensure implementation of nursing interventions consistent with medical regimen.
- Establish priorities for care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care delivery.
- Facilitate interpersonal relationships with other disciplines and manage stressful situations appropriately.
- Participate in the orientation of nursing staff and assume charge responsibilities as delegated.
- Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs.
Job Requirements:
- BSN required.
- Three to five years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
- Competence in CRRT machine operation, vent/tracheostomy, gastrostomy tubes, medication titration, and A-lines.
- TCAR, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AHA Stroke certification required.
- Communication and organizational skills necessary.
