About the Opportunity:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in this role provides essential care and therapy to pediatric patients in an acute care setting. As a full-time contract position, the SLP evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The role involves working closely with an interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans and deliver patient education to support recovery and development.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $59.40 to $70.20 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create comprehensive care plans for pediatric patients.
- Provide therapy targeting speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders.
- Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress following interventions or assessments.
- Stay informed on current research and practice in pediatric speech-language pathology and participate in professional development.
Job Requirements:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with at least 1 year in a hospital setting.
- Acute care experience required.
- Preferred experience in children's hospitals, pediatric outpatient, pediatric rehab facilities, and PICU.
