About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their dedicated oncology team in Hackensack, New Jersey. The right individual in this role will specialize in the management and treatment of solid/liquid tumors. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing advanced, evidence-based care to patients diagnosed with various solid tumors, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with oncologists to establish accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for patients with tumors, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
- Monitor treatment responses, adjust plans as needed, and manage side effects to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and their families about the nature of tumors, treatment options, potential side effects, and supportive care measures
- Provide ongoing support and address any concerns or questions throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with medical oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
- Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in tumor research and treatment modalities
- Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives aimed at advancing the understanding and management of tumors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in oncology nursing, with a focus on tumors preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
