About the Opportunity
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) to join our client’s Endocrinology Outpatient Office team in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves starting with comprehensive cardiology training to enhance patient care coordination, followed by specialization in endocrinology. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic clinician committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.
The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training program focused on cardiology principles, diagnostic techniques, and patient management
- Work closely with cardiologists and the cardiology team to gain a thorough understanding of cardiovascular care as it relates to endocrine disorders
- Develop skills in evaluating cardiovascular health, managing comorbidities, and integrating cardiology care with endocrinology treatment plans
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, and metabolic disorders
- Perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans for endocrine conditions
- Prescribe and manage medications, including insulin and other therapies, monitoring patient response and adjusting treatment as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about endocrine disorders, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care
- Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor patient progress, manage chronic conditions, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Collaborate with endocrinologists, cardiologists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care
- Facilitate referrals to specialists and community resources to ensure comprehensive patient support
- Work with the cardiology team to ensure seamless integration of cardiac care into endocrine treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ensure documentation adheres to organizational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, clinic efficiency, and adherence to clinical guidelines
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, making data-driven adjustments to care practices to improve health results
- Engage in patient education and outreach activities to promote understanding of endocrine conditions and the importance of integrated care
- Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with advances in endocrinology and cardiology
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in New York
- Board certification as an NP or PA; specialty certification in endocrinology preferred but not required
- Experience in cardiology or endocrinology preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative abilities
- Familiarity with endocrine and cardiovascular disorders, diagnostic techniques, and integrated care principles
