About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced NP or PA to join our client’s high-volume Gastroenterology practice serving patients across the Long Island and Queens regions. The ideal candidate will bring prior GI experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced specialty environment.
The advanced practice provider will work closely with GI physicians to evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. This role involves both direct patient care and ongoing collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, high-quality clinical services.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive and focused GI evaluations, including detailed histories and physical exams
- Manage follow-up visits for chronic GI conditions such as GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and other digestive disorders
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic studies including labs, imaging, and GI-specific tests
- Provide pre- and post-procedure education for patients undergoing endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and support staff to coordinate treatment plans and ensure continuity of care
- Prescribe appropriate medications within scope of practice and monitor treatment effectiveness
- Document all clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
- Deliver patient education on disease management, diet, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
Job Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in New York State
- Previous Gastroenterology experience is required—outpatient or inpatient
- Strong understanding of common GI diagnoses, medications, and management strategies
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative care team
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient engagement skills
- Comfort working in a busy specialty practice with high patient volume
- Experience in both clinic and procedural settings
- Familiarity with GI-focused diagnostic testing and treatment pathways
