About the Opportunity:
This registered dietitian contract position involves monitoring patients for and providing education on food and drug interactions. Responsibilities include recording food and drug interactions, consulting with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications, and modifying patient menus as needed. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Screen and assess patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care; determine nutritional needs and provide follow-up care.
- Interview patients and/or families to obtain history of food habits and preferences.
- Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical and social data in the medical record as it applies to nutrition care.
- Provide nutrition education and record patient's diet and understanding of diet instructions in the education section.
- Modify patient menus as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition.
- Minimal one (1) year of experience in a related field.
- Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
- New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist for post-acute locations.
- Preferred master's degree and AHA BLS certification.
- Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).
