About the Opportunity:
The Stock Person role provides essential support in managing inventory and supplies at a hospital location in New York, NY. Responsibilities include picking orders, loading merchandise for delivery, verifying delivery tickets, receiving items from departments or vendors, instructing departments on proper procedures, organizing returns, and operating necessary equipment such as hydraulic lifts and cardboard bailers. The Stock Person conducts periodic inventory counts and performs various housekeeping duties. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $20.90 to $24.70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct oneself courteously with visitors and employees, responding to inquiries promptly.
- Pick orders and load skids or hand trucks with merchandise for department delivery.
- Verify delivery tickets against received supplies, notifying the supervisor of discrepancies.
- Receive and examine packages from departments or vendors for discrepancies.
- Instruct departments on proper procedures to prevent damage.
- Operate hydraulic lift and cardboard bailer for moving and storing case goods.
- Assist in periodic inventory count to monitor material flow.
- Utilize computer systems for information input or retrieval.
- Perform various housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping floors.
- Comply with departmental safety standards.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, push/pull carts.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Must be able to wear safety toe boots.
